I.need to disasemmble the brake pads before taking it off the rotor? I thought the whole caliper assembly will ply off after I unscrew the two caliper bracket bolts. Am I missing something?

Remove the whole caliper, pads and all. Smack the rotor around, and simply pull rotor off. Done.

Glad to be of assistance.

I know generally you should change brake pads when you change rotors but I just bought my IS used and the dealership said they just replaced the pads and resurfaced the rotors. If the pads look okay is it okay to just change the rotors?
