Lowering suggestions please......
I'm looking to lower my 1998 GS400 and am searching for what I should use ,I am not sure if lowering springs will give me enough , ...an inch isn't going to make me happy at all! , , ....are they adjustable maybe? , ....or do I have to spend a **** ton on coil overs??, ...the rims on the car are 20's
Suggestions please...........

Most here will tell you to just bite the bullet and get the coilovers, and you know what, they are right.
On the budget, the Megan EZ kit seems to be popular for $700 or so.
If you are willing to spend another $200-300, get the BCRs which are higher quality.
I would avoid fussing around with conventional coil springs (this is coming from someone with Tanabe lowering springs and I'm too not happy with the drop. Like you said, that 1-1.5" drop just isn't very inspiring).

20X ?? and what are the offsets? I ask because once the car gets lower i'm not sure you'll like the sunken look. As the car goes down the wheels camber in and will put the toe off aswell.
Figs has some RCA's to drop another 17mm or 34mm in the front and very shortly will have the drop arms for the rear near 2". toe links are worth the money too if you want to go lower.

If you want to save money you could always try some Espelir springs. I think they have the biggest drop among the springs available.
Think they drop like 2"-2.5" in front, and 1.5"-2" in back. If they're not low enough sell'em and buy some coils.

I think it'd be the perfect combo!! That's what I wanted originally but was worried about the drop being too aggressive so I got l-tuned instead.
Turned out being the right choice. My setup just barely clears my driveway top and bottom. It's sloped. Any lower would scrape unfortunately.
Don't get me wrong, I like coils, but I had to be honest with myself. How often would I really be adjusting them? Plus when the struts go bad, they're cheap to replace.
