Default LS brakes polished?

hey anyone here polish up their calipers on the ls400 swap?
i want to polish mine up. i hear they are aluminum, so that means they can be polished up with some metal polish.
i've only seen one picture online, and it looks pretty sick.
but im not sure if its been chromed, or just polished.
post pics if u got any

Nice! I don't understand though...for all those that have done this mod (polishing) how do you get in all the nooks and crannies? Or do you just send them out to a shop to have it done?

i don't see the point to trying to floss OEM brakes... IMO, it looks like you're trying too hard...
do it right, and get a REAL BBK and not fake the funk....

True...but those Supra brakes are just as good as some smaller BBK's out there.

yeah, i would have to agree with you on that part. TT Supra calipers are just a little bit smaller then my 4pot "Stoptech". the only advantage i see from me having stoptech over a TT supra caliper is weight, and having 2 piece rotors.

to the OP, at the end of the day... its your car... do as you wish, because its you that's going to be driving it.

I don't think its faking the funk, when its not like you're replacing OEM calipers with Made in China BBKs, I consider that faking the funk. I rather save more $$ get get some Brembos, now thats some real brakes; world renowned.

At least the LS4 calipers are still 4pot, and I would mos def take OEM LS4 brakes over a lot of these bigger Made in China/Taiwan **** brakes.

Plus, LS4 brakes is still an "upgrade" from stock GS, so if you have it, why not floss it if you want. I'm about to either polish or chrome my TT calipers, I don't think its faking the funk, its just adding small details to your car.

the ls is a newer design , its aluminium and lighter . it is also alot cheaper than the supra tt.with ls callipers you have to either run a rca or cut down the tie rod end and clearance the calliper. if you want more info search, there's heaps on here.

They can be polished up nicely given the time with a die grinder/rotary tool. They have a slightly textured finish so they will need to be cleaned up and will take a bit more than just metal polish. Easier to have them media blasted clean then painted/coated.
