Default Thinking of upgrading brakes...

I'm in the market for some new brakes. I'm piecing together a brake system and would like your opinions/feedback.

First: I have a 2GS with 3GS OEM 18" wheels (18x8 offset 45)
Use: This is for my daily driver. I drive mostly highway but stuck in traffic most of the time.

Browsing the options from tirerack, I'm looking at either the Satisfied GranSport 6 or Hawk HPS Street brake pads.

Are the Goodridge G-Stop Brakeline Kit any good?

What would be a recommended brand for cross-drilled rotors?

OR should I just save the trouble and get the supra bbk? Will my current wheels clear a bbk?

I have the Satisfied GranSport on my car now with 19's and swear by them. I consider them to be the best all around pad on the market currently excluding EBC Green or Red Stuff, I can't speak to them. I too use my GS as a daily driver (fall, winter, and spring).

You know, they're as good as any other as far as I'm concerned. I have them (from Tire Rack) and they get the job done.

100% Rotora, everyday.

My estimate is you're going to have problems. Most of the BBK manufacturers have templates and / or guides that can help you. See if this helps: http://www.brakewarehouse.com/images...ance_chart.pdf

ZippyGuy, Thanks for your feedback!

Where can I get some rotora rotors?

I did not like the Hawk HPS. Great grab, just LOUD!
I'm on Supra turbo caliper, Rotora blanks, project mu NS (I think?) pads, SS lines. Stopping distance probably hasn't improved (still on stock booster) but initial grab has greatly improved.

3GS wheels + Supra turbo caliper compatibility is covered in another thread.

This is what I used to have on my GS300 prior to going BBK for better fade resistance. DBA4000 series rotor, Goodridge SS lines, Carbotech bobcat 1521 pads, and ATE blue/type 2000 brake fluid. This is all used with stock caliper and I did actually track my car.

How'd you like this set up?

This setup will be more than enough for any aggressive street driving. It has a good initial bite but the release is pretty linear. Overall, I will assure you that it will be just as good as any BBK.
