Default gs400 alignment problems

1998 gs400 eibach/bilstein

i went to get an alignment on my gs400
so i took off my 19's and put on the factory 16's
they could not get the front left camber where it
needs to be and suggested i buy a cam bolt
i went to the dealer and bought a camber bolt
when i whent to install it, it turned out to be the
exact bolt that was already there.

What can i do?

is it normal not to be able to get the camber in spec?

what should my next step be

is there any way to get any more adjustment?

thanks

if anything, you will need aftermarket camber kits. the reason why you have camber (and most likely negative) in your front now is that your stock camber can't sustain the amount of drop you have with the shock and springs. therefore of course getting another stock one is not gonna help you.

an aftermarket one will allow you to have more headroom to move your camber and thus able to correct the problem.

bad thing about negative camber, you wheel won't be totally vertical, so you will have uneven wear on your tires, and effectively shorten the lifespan on the tires. i think the difference between 16 and 19 are about the same, but probably with 19 you wear our your tires a bit faster

Ah, the elusive after market camber kit. I've seen a variety for Honda's and the like, are there any for the GS? My drop has pushed me slightly out of spec...

Default Beat to death subject

I have a 00 GS4 with the eibach/belstien combo.
I love it. I hate that eats tires!

Set of 18" wheels with Dunlop SP9000.

I'm going for the Nitto because of the better tire wear. for the next set. Don't even lecture me on the Nitto tires. I don't care at least they will last longer then 10K miles.

I'm a regular driver not too aggressive and not to conservative.

This subject has been beaten to death on this board. Even the previous CL Board before this one.

All I can say is that you need to check your alignment often to bring it back to (close to spec). Front inside wear is what to look for.

Even the stock GS has front wheel alignment issues that some members reported. I can't see how Lexus even install L-Tune?

"Oh that is normal SIR your supposed replace your front tires every 10K miles"

No one to my knowledge makes a camber kit for the GS.

THEY FUC++NG SHOULD!
I would definetly pay $100 for two bolts to save $400 on tires every year.

Oh, I got 12K on my Dunlops, now they are toast. No rotation in my case. 8.5" up front and 9.5" in the back.

My buddy says "There is No modification without Ramification"

I've checked with Ingalls (who is an aftermarket camber company) and they say that there's nothing available for the GS4. According to their diagrams, you should be able to adjust them without any camber kits.

I've got TEIN HA's and I got myself aligned once. I'm sure I'm probably out of spec already, but I guess that's the price you pay for droppin' the car.......

If anyone ever finds a camber kit for the GS, let's get a group buy going!
