Default Brake fluid - Recommended brand?

Hi all,

My 30k service is coming up and it seems I need to flush out my brake fluid. Is there any recommended brand that everyone uses? Does it even matter? Should I just go with the Toyota brand? Is there a difference between the Lexus one and toyota brand? Price maybe? I've read that certain brands might not be good for the brake system so I just want to get everyone's advice.

Thanks

Also wondering what is the best brake fluid for a IS350.

My mechanic told me to use the ATE super blue dot 4. Any thoughts?

Coming from my modding days of Audi, I only used Motul or ATE Super Blue. Once i have to do it for the IS350 I will choose one or the other. They are high temp fluids.

I've heard that ATE super blue is bad for audi and VW.

I use Brembo LCF on my IS-F for track weekends. For street driving just about any DOT 3 fluid is fine. Valvoline makes a very cheap synthetic brake fluid with a reasonably high dry and wet boiling point. I use it on all my street cars.

I recently used the Valvoline Synthetic Dot 3/4 brake fluid for my DIY Fluid flush. After about 1,000 miles the fluid turned a reddish color. I did engage the ABS system a couple of times in the rain as well. But after some google searching I found this Miata forum. A few people on there experienced the same issue with the reddish color after the changed out their brake fluid with the same type. Any thoughts on this from the forum? I emailed Valvoline and I am awaiting a reply. Just wanted some insight from the forum.

Is this fine for IS 350 street use?

http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brake...utoModClar=RWD

And I hear any DOT 4 or 5 fluid found in Autozone is fine. Is this correct?

Why would use a different fluid for track than for the street

Why wouldn't the LCF work on the street too?

Default That's the fluid I used in my IS250 after doing IS350 brake upgrade

Samiee, that's the fluid I used in IS250 after doing the IS350 brake upgrade. Seems to work very good. It is DOT4 so it has can stand higher temps than the stock DOT3 that comes in the car from factory.

If you are going to be using the car for spirited/harder driving and doing mountain runs or something similar then the ATE super Blue is ideal.

Be advised the Super blue is no longer sold due to some stupid USA laws, but the Typ200 Amber is still sold, which is exactly the same stuff just not blue. We sell it, hit us up if anyone wants some!
