Default Which Brand of DOT 3 Brake Fluid Do You Use?

I need to flush out my old brake fluid and I just bought a few quarts of Valvoline DOT 3 / 4 fluid.

I am wondering if I should return this fluid I just bought because it's a multipurpose oil compatible with both DOT 3 and DOT 4 systems.

What would you recommend I buy? I saw prestone there and some other no name brand, but liked the Vavoline brand name--so that's why I bought the Valvoline.

I am guessing the reply will be "it doesn't matter". Or maybe I should buy Toyota brand DOT 3 fluid (if it exists) ?

In the past I've used Valvoline synthetic. This time around I bought what was convenient/WalMart and it was the Prestone synthetic. Since you are flushing the whole system, this is fine.

I've run ATE Super Blue/ATE Type 200 for years and love it, great every day fluid.

I bought DOT3 brake fluid from a Toyota (not Lexus) dealer. Saved me some money. An indie Lexus shop near me uses DOT4 and claims that that provides better protection than DOT 3. From what I have read, what you purchased is fine.

My boyfriend helped me change out the brake fluid today (more like I helped him--I was the pedal pumper). Look at how bad it was!--this was just the first small portion we siphoned out of the reservoir with a turkey baster.

I just flushed the brake fluid on my LS with O'reilly Auto generic fluid. It was on sale for a $1.99.

Not to hijack this thread, but what is a good brake rotor and pad combo for basic daily driver use? The current pads have 50% life, but lack in performance. I recently replaced the rotor and pads on my van with Centric C-tek rotors and Akebono pro-act ceramics. A great combination for that car, but is there recommendations for the LS?
