Odd Noises Coming From Brakes
I've been noticing as of late that my brakes are making some really odd noises. Almost like the wear indicators have been activated. What makes the squealing odd is that it doesn't come from the same pad every time I hit the brakes, nor does it happen at the same tonal pitch. Sometimes it's a low squeal (like wet brakes) and other times it's the high squeal of wear indicators. Right now, it seems like it's coming from every corner at different times. I have tried rotating the rotors (swapped sides) and turning the pads around to no avail. Both the pads and the rotors have good life left to them and are within spec, so I'm not sure what's causing this. It's getting quite annoying and somewhat embarrassing as the really loud squeals usually happen when I'm coming up on a crowd.
The pads still have their shim pads, so I can't say for certain that this is the cause, but it may be. Anyone have any insight?
