Default How did you losen the bolt on the shock???

Hello! I am installing tanabe springs on my GS. I have done the rear, no problems. But in the front the lower shockbolt is impossible to losen and there´s no space to use bigger/longer tools. What tool did you use when you changed springs on your GS?

Pictures on tools would be nice (don´t know the name of the tools on english) and detailed description.

I just used a socket, a breaker bar and brute force.

If you can, lay on your back and push slowly on the wrench with the bottom of your foot. Make sure you have good solid jackstands supporing the car when you do this.

Also, spray it with some penetrating lube or WD-40.

Just. Make sure its well lubricated and then use a good amount of force! Breaker bar is your best friend.

I jacked up both sides and support the car with jackstands then took off the sway bar to get it out of the way of the shock bolt...So much more room to play with... Good luck.

Removing those two bolts on both sides will allow the sway bar to hang down out of the way. I used a breaker bar to remove the strut bolt. Or if that's not enough, put a 5ft steel pipe over the breaker bar to give you several times more torque.

Ok so I finished the passengerside and now I only got one spring to go. But I ran in to some toruble, so I have to ask a (stupid) question. In wich direction should I pull the bolt on the driverside lower shockbolt, that is the bolt facing forward. I pulled it clockwise, right or wrong?

To loosen it's counter-clockwise.
