Default Front suspension noise remains after replacing most of the suspension

I have a 94 SC400. Here is what I have changed out in the front suspension so far: Lower control arms (supra), upper strut mount, shocks, spring bumper, spring insulator, end links, stab. bar bushings. (Every single part except for the upper control arms.)

Here's the problem: When I am driving on flat smooth surface front suspension is great no problems. When I drive on a road that has bumps on it the front suspension isn't soft and you feel every bump. It also makes a thud sound from both sides in the front. I know when I drive a new Lexus its completely a smooth ride. You still go over the same bumps and feel them still but in a smooth gentle way without the thuds. Granted its alot better after replacing all those parts with new Lexus parts, but I basically have a new front suspension. Could it just be that I need to replace the upper control arms?

Even though my front suspension is 95% new its still night and day between mine and a new car say a toyota camry or a lexus, probably even a kia. I am running out of parts to replace. And I know there's something that is causing this, b/c nobody would spend 40,000-50,000 on the car if it drove over the bumps like mine does. If I drive 15mph its near excellent, but any faster and its thud, thud, thud over each bump.

Surely this car was smooth and quiet over bumps when it was first manufactured. I also have replaced the steering rack bushings as well. What could be causin this still. I haven't replaced the front motor mounts yet. Could that contribute to front suspension noise? Any ideas?

Maybe its the bushings in the LCAs since they are from a Supra. They are probably a tad stiffer for that sportier ride.

Okay, I know there stiffer bushings but I still shouldn't get the thuds i get when going over bumps around 40mph. The only thing left is the upper control arms.

I actually have the exact same problem! I've already replaced the struts/springs/LCAs/steering rack bushings/sway bars and bushings but when I go over a bumpy road the whole car vibrates. Pretty embarrassing, especially driving a lexus.

I'm thinking maybe the UCAs are next on my list to work on...hopefully

Well if you get those upper arms changed out and it makes it better please post the results. Right now I am working on replacing everything in the rear suspension with new 97-00 oem suspension parts. I'm sure I'll still have the thump/thud in the front.

i have a similar problem as you guys on my 93 ES. I've replaced all bushings under the car with polyurethane bushings and also the springs and struts are good. Now i think i will replace the sway bar links and strut mount, and maybe after that doesn't work, i will replace all motor mounts.

I totally understand what you guys mean, a lexus should not ride like this and it's driving me nuts

My Supra does. It's incredibly noisy inside compared to any Lexus. For that matter, it's just incredibly noisy. The Tein HAs don't help, but still it's loud inside.

Those new urethane bushings will not operate as quietly as if you replaced them with new oem rubber bushings. If you were looking for that Lexus ride quality, oem rubber is the way to go. I'm sure your car probably handles alot better though.

So your saying the oem supra arms are just naturally louder. I still can't imagine a new toyota/lexus riding/sounding like this.
