Default Are KYB shocks same as L-tuned shocks?

Hello,
After researching and reading past people's comments about KYB's, I found out that KYB shocks are same as L-tuned(discontinued) shocks.

Is this true? if so, KYB's are just as comfortable/soft for our rides correct?
(I am trying to go Espelir/KYB(L tuned) set up IF the KYBs are same as L-tuned)

I mainly ask this, because I heard L-tuned shocks and Espelir springs are good however L-tuned shocks are discontinued and I wanted to find a replacement or similar(soft/comfortable) set of shocks.

Also I read by searching couple of members saying that KYB's are junk, because they will not perform the same once they are put on with aftermarket springs for a while(10k miles) due to them not made for the aftermarket springs.
is this true? I hope it's not.
only those who has these KYB's should know about this, hence I am asking.

thanks in advance you all.

They are the same thing.

One reason why I have KYBs with L-tuned springs is because they work well with each other (after all, they're both L-tuned products).

Many people on here say they're "junk" because L-tuned/KYBs are not made for very aggressive drop. These shocks just dont have that kind of valving made for drops beyond 1.25" or so.

So yea, they are compatible with aftermarket springs (l-tuned and eibach), but they aren't the best choice if you have springs like Daizen, Tanabe, etc.

I went thru the same thing last year. I think KYB does supply a lot of stuff to Lexus. However, I could not confirm for a fact that KYB shocks are the same as L-tuned. There's no question that Bilsteins are better though. It's nice to have a life time warranty.

as long as someone can verify me that the L-tuned shocks and KYB shocks are same, well same ride comfort/stiffness that would be great.
I am about to order them as soon as i get a confirmation from someone.

thanks

seriously, i would consider bilstein if i were you. they aren't that much more expensive, plus they are made in germany.

you can find them on tirerack. they are a little over 100 for each strut. i believe the HD's are 118, and the sports are like 109?

you would most likely blow out the KYB's sooner with the lowering springs.

Blisteins are too stiff. price is not an issue for me. what I am looking for are soft/comfortable/and as stock as possible riding set up.

As the title says, all I am asking is..........are KYB shocks same as L-tuned shocks.

thanks

I had L-tuned shocks on my GS 400 and I have KYBs (GS 430) now. I love the ride with both. Espelir springs with the L-tuned and Daizen with the GS 430.
