Question about bleeding GS430 brakes w/ service manual pictures?
I was reading this how to for LS on bleeding the brakes and it is the basic way I knew. Then I checked my GS430 service manual and it shows using an electronic lexus tool and hooking it to brake booster????? Is that necessary?
here's the manual info.....

I used that exact DIY for the LS and mine went fine. I did find that I had to pump the pedals more times than it said, but once the fluid started flowing I knew I was good.
I also switched to ATE Super Blue so I could tell when the factory yellow fluid was out and the new blue was in.

I too bleed my brakes with ATE blue fluid. Expensive stuff, but at least I know I can depend on them.
Instead of having the computer, all I did was put the key in the IGN mode (without running the engine) and you'll hear the ABS motor constantly working when you have someone pumping the brake pedal. Warning though.. my battery died because I let the ABS run too long. I should have started my car after bleeding the rear just so I can have enough juice to bleed the front. But I also took my time so maybe if you bled quicker than I did, you wont run into that problem.
When the blue fluid came out, I knew I was good. But to make sure, bleed the brakes again after a week or two to ensure you've completely bled the brakes.

where do I get the ATE blue fluid and it won't hurt anything, will it? I'm assuming it's Dot 4.

tirerack.com has ATE blue
I used it because it was easier for me to bleed the brakes. The blue color makes it easy to see
I do stop and go all the time. so I'm sure my brakes get heated up. Probably not to the point where it overboils, but I like to have that peace of mind. Plus it was only $12 for a liter, which was enough for me to bleed the brakes.

are we sure that one of these http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/ate/a...UPERBLUE_Qty=1 is enough to bleed all 4 corners?
