Default I searched and didn't see a complete brake pad thread.

I searched and didn't see a complete brake pad thread.

Here's my contribution (and my question).

Axxis Ulimates
Dusts A LOT!
Good braking/stopping distance (helped mainly by good tires)
Fade resistance is good, but not as well as I'd like. When the pads get heated up, you can feel the distance in stopping.
Lots of metallic screeching noise when stopping on the street!!!

All in all, I'm looking at another pad.

I do see Performance Friction pads are available. Does anyone have experience w/ these?

Hmm. I was going to get Axxis Ultimates, but they're not available in proper sizes for my front SC400 calipers. Guess I'm not missing out on much, from your review.

My current plan is to order up some EBC Green Stuff and DBA rotors for my fronts, since they are pretty worn (and making a lot of noise under soft braking).

Anyone have commentary on either of those products?

This screeching will go away after the pads are properly bedded. I have the same pads and I dealt with the screeching for about a month. A couple trips to the canyons cured the problem.

i had Axxis Ulimates and i was happy with them initial stop was superb and from 130mph stops i wouldnt even fade. but i do know what you mean about dusting. and mine also were melting from highspeed stops (i could see stuff on the calipers). so i went with project mu b-force pads.. much more expensive. they worked verry well no more melting problem. but had to be warmed up by hard braking. which i didnt like much on the street. and that initial stopping power just wasnt there... my next choice would be to try some endless pads.

Okay. So I just swapped out the Axxis Ultimates for a set of Hawk HPS brake pads (fronts only).

Impressions?
Quite good.
No screeching sounds unlike the Axxis Ultimates.
Less dusting too.

So in short, I'm like the Hawk HPS much better than the Axxis Ultimates.

I bought it from a forum member.
But I did find some by Googling the product. Check Summitracing or some other places is the best suggestion.

Price around $65. Maybe just a tad more expensive than the Axxis Ultimates (by a few bucks maybe), but 100% worth it. The car feels better stopping w/ these pads (I'm saying this because I'm still using the same tires so far)...

And yes, I'm dead serious. This pad is WAYYYY worth it over the Axxis Ultimates.
