L tuned or Stock Shocks? NEED HELP!!!
Hello Fellow CL members.
I just got a used 02 GS 430 and it seems like the Lexus dealer Installed all 4 new shocks and struts on the car. Right now the car rides like it was new. So later this week im going to have Eibachs springs installed. I was thinking about having them install a set of L tuned shock/struts I have. I bought these for my GS 300 before it got totaled.
I love the way the car feels right now so i dont want to add the l tuned set and not be happy with the ride. I guess im looking for fellow memebers that have done this and what their thoughts are.
Any help would be great.
Thanks

I've had the L-tune setup for 3 years and the ride is just fine. With both springs and shocks, your car will handle much better. L-tune eliminates that float you feel on the hwy with the standard oem setup. Plus you don't have the suv look anymore

I agree with these guys. This is how the car should come from the factory. I can barely tell a difference from stock ride as far as comfort goes, and it turns how it should.

L-tuned are the same shocks as the EUROPEAN stock shocks, and are slightly stiffer, since that is how the European market likes it. If you lower your car, stiffer shocks would be prefered.

I had the L-tuned S/S combo installed a few weeks ago and like it so much I puchased a extra set of Shocks in case replacements are needed. It takes away the float and eliminate alot of the body roll. I was thinking of getting new sway bars but the L-tuned is good enought for me at the moment. The ride height is perfect and the ride is much more controlled.
This mod was really worth the money. .

I have a 2001 GS430 with 48K on the stock shocks and it started to feel a bit loose. I just had a set of L-tuned springs and struts installed about a month ago and it does ride much nicer. I was suprised that it was not harsh at all. I kind of expected it to ride a bit harsher with the 1" lowered springs and shocks but it actually rides like a brand new car. My previous ride was a 2001 Audi A6 2.7T and it drove stiffer on stock shocks and springs with 60K miles than my new L-tuned on the Lexus does. Anyway, if you are looking for the car to ride like new go for the L-tuned, I think if you want it to ride stiffer you may want to try something else.
