I'm pretty sure that the LS4 pad is on the bottom..I have that gap btw the pad also..

That gap that divides the pad area in 2 is just a brake pad type characteristic... some people will claim that the gap will improve the pad's resistance to fading (the friction material has more space to expand when hot).

So the LS400 pad can no or one gap depending on the pad design. The important part is the backing plate ... that will determine if you can mount the pad into your calipers

so is there much difference in terms of stopping power from ls400 to ls430 brakes? will sc430 wheels clear the entire LS setup?

Trying to figure out whether to lower my car with coilovers or do this brake upgrade, but i know the lexus BBK won't clear gs 17s so i'm stuck there.

It's just a 1/4 inch spacer that goes underneath the hub/knockle. Which will help lower your car 1/4 inch without adding anymore camber to it. I'll take some pictures soon on how it works and what it looks like.

here are some pictures of what the spacer look like and where does it go.

I made the protype with wood, so that I can take the measurements.









If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

No, this spacer will not fix your camber.... unless you have adjustable coil overs and Yes, it will lower your car however thick the spacer is. In the picture, I used a 1/4 inch thick wood, but the aluminum one that I made for my car is 1/2 inch thick.

The roll center adapter will straighten out camber because I have it on my car and the before and after camber adjustment is all the proof I need ..Because by installing this you actaully raise the steering knuckle instead of bringing the car down to lower it..this adapter is better suited for those who have coilovers because the front will be lower than the rear...
