Default road noise ?

how much road noise should i expect after lowering my car? after getting it lowered last week on the l-tuned set up, the road noise went from a 1 to a 7 (on a scale of 1-10) I have stock 16" wheels and had the alignment done, but couldn't get the camber done. the camber i will be getting done on monday. question, can the camber play that much of a role in road(tire) noise. i have two 30%tread remaining tires on the front and brand new tires in the back. could the mismatched tires be the reason? well any feed back on the l-tuned shock and springs road noise would be helpful thanks, suxel

well with bad camber you definitely get more road noise. and even more, if the toe is out, you can get even more noise. just for reference though. i have 20s so i defintely have more road noise on my car too

btw, how do you determine the 10?

well it's at the point where i can clearly hear it with the radio at crusing volume.....the only other lowered car i had was a civic, back in 99 and it was slammed more then 2 inches and the road noise wasn't as bad as it is now. just trying to relay the fact that it is very noticable and yes, annoying. a "10" would almost an ear popping noise.....hahhah. right now at 10-40mph it is at it's loudest, i think....gets a little quiter when on the freeway, but i think only beacuse there is more wind noise, so i don't think it gets quiter on the freeway per say.

I just lowered my GS400 with the L-tuned set-up (shocks and springs) also as well as installing new shock mounts. I have a more stable feeling ride, better handling at speed and in the corners, car feels quicker overall and though hard bumps come through more noticeably, I do not appreciate any significant change in the level of road noise. We'll see what happens when I mount 18" rims
