Tail of The Dragon Fall 2012 ---- CL Meet?
Checking to see if there is anyone would like to spend a weekend in the North Carolina Mtns driving some of the best roads in the country.
I take my annual trip up to Fontana Village toward the end of Oct, first of Nov.
The resort is less that 1 mile from the Tail of the Dragon/Deals Gap, NC.
If I get 5 or more people commited then I'll get us some god rates at the Fontana Village.

I'm local and run a small Euro shop on the TN side.
If you come on the weekend of OCT 13th, there will be the fiddies races at DGMR, grown adults on juiced 50cc bikes

That area is amazing and I have done that road in my Acura. Pushed it way too hard once and almost became a statistic lol. So, yall have a good time. If you haven't been up there, it is a MUST SEE road. Bring your camera, make sure your brakes, tires, suspension and coolant levels are good to go! #justSayin

Nah, no snow yet. The dragon is only @ 2000 feet so they don't get snow until mid december most years.
The Skyway is pretty high tho and might have snow but they'll close the road if it falls.
The dragon never closes!! Unless a major wreck happens.

My bad, HKS. I'd heard that one of the roads up there closed in the winter, just didn't know the details. Guess that's what you get for buying into the scuttlebutt.
CJ, you weren't lying about that coolant or brake checking. My Audi had ceramic slotted brakes and I still boiled the brake fluid. Good times, though.
You know, I'd be willing to post some of the pics that were taken of me driving that day (for those of you that weren't aware, professional photographers set up along the road and will sell you a photo of your car going down). But they're not of a Lexus, so had to make sure.
