Default '92 1UZ in a 1955 chevy stepside p/u

I am putting a '92 1UZ engine into a '55 Chevy p/u. I was wondering if any of you super mechanics might have an idea on setting up the ECU and the EFI. Fortunately since it's an old truck I don't have any other electronic stuff for it connect to or thru. I'm not looking for it to be a 500 hp bruiser. I'm gonna leave the motor for the most part stock except for maybe some bolt on items. The truck is a 0 rust California car. My buddy is almost done making the engine mounts, so the engine and.trans will be in and bolted down. Please guys can somebody maybe give me a couple tips or maybe some info to help me out. Thanks everybody!!

So are you just trying to pick fights at cruise in night lol . . . .

You'll never hear the end of "why didn't you put a SBC in it? Why didn't you put an LS V8 in it?"(SBC=small block chevy, LS is code for a variety of the newer GM fuel injected V8's found in the Vette, trucks and suvs for those that don't know the lingo)

Seriously though good luck with the project, getting it wired up is going to be the real PITA. I know Painless wiring can custom make you a harness, but you're really going to have to spec out exactly what you need, as nobody has ever done a Toyota 1uz in a 1955 Chevy truck before. Not to give you crap, but I'm willing to bet they've done quite a few harnesses(and may even have one on the shelf in stock) for guys swapping LS motors into a 1955 Chevy truck.

Default .

Yes the SBC is the norm and you can make the LS engines make super amounts of horsepower. However there are 2 things the both of those engines don't have! 1: neither of them are a 32 valve configuration and 2: they are nearly 200 pounds heavier. 🙂 I'm just looking to build something different. I'm not looking for big HP numbers either. Ya-know... just think how Kool it would be when you lift the hood and see 32v! Thanks a lot for the tip though. I will call 'em and see if they can help.
