Default Front suspension help. 1996

So this has been going in for awhile now.
during breaking I get the nastiest banging noise. It's coming from the passenger side. It makes the same clunking noise once per bump if that makes sense. But while breaking, about 1/4-1/2 breaking power it's very fast Thuds depending on speed.
I might be able to capture everything on video and post it.
anyone else run into this issue?
I replaced the lower ball joints and that helped for a little while but now it's back full force again haha.
BUT it made it across country as is!
My warped rotors add to it or are caused by it.
it's very loud and noticeable like a thudding wobble.
I know it could be a million things but any input is appreciated. Almost seems like the strut/shock but im not sure.

Strut rod bushings. Have someone operate your car while you stand outside by the front tire and watch it. Have them let it roll forward slightly followed by abruptly applying the brakes. You'll probably see the wheel and tire assembly jerk to the back of the wheel well.

^^^^This. Had the exact same problem. New strut rod bushings fixed the symptoms Banshee described and my front end vibration issue.

The bushings can be bought separately from Toyota. They have to be pressed out and in. The strut rods are available as complete assemblies from Toyota as well. Avoid poly bushings anywhere on your car.

I don't have a very good press. Should I rig something up to get it out/in or better off buying complete assembly. I plan on lowering the car soon. Anything I should replace while I'm there. As stated lower ball joints were already done recently

I bought the complete assembly but kept my old ones so I could buy bushings and replace at my convenience. This gives me a spare set on hand for the future. There's nothing else to replace along with these and it's a pretty easy process to replace them.
