Default just bought a 2014 IS250 - dont know jack about cars but want a little more power

Hello all,

I am new to modding cars and don't really know much aside from oil changes ha. I just bought a 2014 IS250 F-Sport and I want a little bit more power without voiding my warranty or having to get the IS350. I want to start learning about these things. Can you guys help me out on what I would need to do to get a little bit of extra horsepower? like intake, exhaust, etc? and how much horsepower I can expect from each part upgrade and approximate cost? sorry again for being such a car noob.

Unless you just want noise from exhaust, it's a waste of money buying parts for more power. The is250 is heavy with a tiny engine, nothing will result in noticeable gains. Be cheaper just to trade up to a 350

+1. Power is hard enough to make on an IS350, why waste time or $$ on an IS250? Upgrade the suspension and wheels, add a noisemaking axleback and be done.

The problem you face with your desires, is your warrenty.

Any mods, really you risk voiding the warrenty. Lexus is pretty good about turning a blind eye to stuff so it is not much of a worry.

But as others have stated, pulling some extra ponies out of the engine, while not impossible, might not work in your criteria.

You can do all the standard stuff, intake exhaust, but it won`t add a lot.

Personally, I`d put a small NOS setup on it. It`ll void warranty for sure, but its easy to add a kit, and you can always change the jets for a little extra kick if you want a bit more, and it is just a push of a button when you want it...

Only downside, when the bottle is empty, you have to get it refilled.

It's a great daily car but yeah engine mods on these car's are really hard to do and the power different isnt much.

^ that. I drive a 14' is350 with an ark performance full catback exhaust and it sounds so much better than stock exhaust!!! I read in forums that if you get an ark performance installed on a is250 it makes it sounds raspy and hitch pitched so take in consideration if you go that route. OP- Why dont u trade your is250 in for a IS-F

probably because that would cost him a ton of money as he's just purchased the 250.

anyhow, enjoy what you have while saving and then trade up when you are financially ready.

it varies from each state but i test drived the 250 and its lackluster to say the least. With an aggressive body style like the 350 f sport it should have at least 300 ponies. Thats just my two cents. Been driving my 350 f sport for almost two years and im starting to crave moar power. Looking to trade my is for a GS F pre owned in the future doh.

price difference between his 2014 IS and an 08' ISF probabely is around the same. Only down fall is higher mileage, older interior technology and worn inferior interior
