Default Rear DVD Screen Entertainment

I am a bit disappointed that the rear monitors on the LX570 resolution is only 720x480 which is HD and not Full HD. I was expecting 1080p with super resolution, but that is not the case. I also wish the disc read blu-ray, but it only reads DVD. Why are car technologies so behind time?

And despite having HDMI, it only supports up to VGA (640x480) and LPCM2 ch. For $2K additional, this is quick disappointing.

I have had this entertainment system on the last three LX units and not used it a single time. In my opinion it is just a useless option pushed on the buyer because most dealers order it with the vehicle.

As as far as the quality most or the kids will not be able to tell the difference in resolution.

Regardless be careful what you wish for or Lexus will turn this forced option into a $4000 option in 2017 but you will not have to look at that little white line in the HUD.

hahaha. I think I'm going to hang my kids Samsung tablets over the existing one, and as for the white line, I'll use black electrical tape to cover up the white line. I still have to call Lexus on Monday to see if they can credit me for the bait and twist tactic on the heated steering wheel. I want my shimanotu (sp) wood.

I am sure that Lexus is looking forward to your call.

Perhaps tell stories or sing songs...either is better than plugging the kids into a movie on a road trip.

So, a white line on the screen, not enough definition, po'd about the steering wheel, not to mention the wrong wood.

Nice collection of first-world problems.

My first Lexus was a 92' LS400, followed by my fathers 2005 LS430 and 2009 LS460 respectively. Quality and fitment is second to none especially to BMW 7 series and MB S class. Yet, this vehicle falls short of what my previous experience of Lexus of the past. You got, they are going to hear a mouthful from me.

Call them. They will be polite and listen no matter what you say. Enjoy.

Follow this thread on what I have done so far.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/lx-...-question.html
Lexus, BMW, and MB have very good customer service, but being polite is only a tactic to affect emotional issues. The wood mismatch on the cabarnet interiors is a real mistake on Lexus' part. They should own up to it, or compensate owners with that type of interior. For some, I know they don't care for what ever reason. For others, you feel it, you see in your face every time you drive your LX. And this is not even on the OCD level.
