Dumb Question about Oil Changes
Being relatively new to Lexus, I am still trying to grasp some of the maintenance related aspects of the GS 350.
Does the car ever "remind" or warn you as you approach the time to change the oil? If so, is it simply based on miles since last "reset", or is there something that actually is calculated into this? I believe my previous Acuras gauged it based on time driven since last reset (and not based on miles).
And since I am on the topic...how often do you guys change your oil, specifically down south in Texas?

Reminders are based on mileage settings. I change my oil once a year as I put on less than 10K miles a year. Manual says once every year or 10Kmiles which ever comes first.

Got mine new and it came with 2 courtesy services, one at 5K and one at 10K.
[edit] 5K intervals are mostly for inspection. No oil changes performed.

Once a year because I put less than 10,000 miles/year on this car. They put a sticker on the window reminding me of the mileage when the next oil change will be required but I never reach that mileage in one year.

What is a reasonable amount to pay for an oil change at the Dealership? Just the oil change and filter. No tire rotation, etc needed. I apologize if this has been asked, but it seems like i see figures all over the place. I am debating if i should take it in to Lexus here in Dallas, or just go for a 3rd party place.
Coming from Acura, the dealership would be around $50-60 after all said and done.

I usually find coupons for $69 on the dealer page. Mine matches coupons from other dealers so if they don't have it I check other local dealer sites and print it out and never had a problem with the price match.

Thanks,...so if i am seeing quotes upwards of $100, does that mean i should assume additional services are being thrown in? Seems high, but then again, these cars don't require as frequent oil changes, so i guess it's a wash. Still, saving money is saving money.
