Default 97+ sc300 DIFF ratio

i know the pre 97 SC300's came with a 4.27 gear ratio. i think same for the sc400?

i believe the gear ratio is different in the 'newer' 97+ SC's?

99 to be exact.. anyone know what the gear ratio for it is? the pumpkin on them (92-00) are all the exact same correct?

The SC400 was 3.92 from 92-97 and 3.27 on the VVT-i models with the five speed auto trans.

The SC300 was 4.27 for the auto trans all years.

The SC300 M/T was 4.08 for all years.

SC300 and SC400 pumpkins are identical.

------------
Note: Club na-t info is wrong in the case of the 97 SC400. The 97 has the four speed trans and a 3.92 ratio. The drivetrain of the 97 SC400 is identical to the 96.

thanks a lot guys! very informative and simple! i'm almost 100% positive that the TRD differential or the Torsen diff from the auto supra turbo would fit in with any of these gear ratios then!

sweeet

Just be aware that the LSD units for a 6 speed Supra will NOT fit. The 6 speed ring is larger, and the 6 speed differential pumpkin is wider.

LSD units for the Auto TT are what you will want to be looking for.

I made a mistake above:

The differential pumpkin from the 6 speed is narrower, not wider (by 11.4mm to be exact). The ring, however, is definitely larger in diameter and has 12 bolts to our ten.

Regardless, avoid the six speed differential.
