Advice on a B2510 Convertible Top problem?

I never actually took off the motor. I ended up replacing the entire hinge.

I am going to reply in your other post with some thoughts on what I think you should do.

any write up on how you replaced the whole hinge?

The only reason you would have for changing the entire assembly is if there is some kind of damage in the hinge assembly like loose fasteners or something caused by metal wear. Passenger side motor requires an Allen wrench cut down to access one of the three bolts holding the motor to the gear assembly. Its pretty simple.
