You could remove the floor panels and the front windshield don a pair of old goggles to save your eyes from the wind then stuff the kayak in and out the front. There was a recent thread on removing stuff to make our cars lighter and faster OMG

I think adding any extra weight to the roof is a bad idea. It could possibly damage the gears and motors that operate the top, or even add additional stress to the arms that track the top. Sorry to say, but I also feel that it is a bad idea to put a kayak on the top. Maybe you could do a custom Class I trailer hitch. I've seen some owner do them for bicycles with the SC430, even hideaway hitches behind the license plate.

I agree with Shawn. Don't risk damaging the roof or its mechanisms. Add the light weight hitch and get a very lightweight trailer. Yes, pulling a trailer is more of a pain than carrying something on the roof but I think that you'd regret what weight would to do your roof.
