Brake light out on 2006 led tail light
How do I fix a brake light that is out on a 2006 sc in the tail light on the passenger side?
Can these be repaired or do I have to change the entire light?

I know you don't have to replace the entire light, but only the bulb. I think there is a screw covered by a little plastic piece on the housing of the light assembly. After popping that cover off & unscrewing the bolt, the entire light should come out, then you'll have access to the bulb....warning (lol)...I'm not with my vehicle, so all of this is off the top of my head.If I've directed him wrong in anyway, please jump in & corrected me....

That works only on 2001-2005 models

I popped off the tab and unscrewed the bolt you mentioned. When you remove the assembly there is only access to the indicator bulb and another plug that when you open simply allows you to see the circuit board inside the assembly. There are a bunch of screws on the back which I unscrewed as well however nothing opens up or at least I couldn't pry anything open without fear of damaging it.
Access to the assembly was very quick, less than 10 minutes. Also the manual as no mention of replacing the led's.
Anyone know of there is a fuse associate with the assembly? The driver side brake light works just passenger side does not. Also a final note, when the headlights are on the passenger side tail light does turn on as well.

Reverse Light SC 430
2004 SC 430
So, someone backed into my car and broke the right side brake light assembly.
I wasn't able to get a new assembly right away and rain shorted out the brake light bulb. I got a new assembly and changed the bulb. [10 min job]
Now the brake light works and the blinker works but when I put the car in reverse the brake light does NOT come on on the right side like it does on the left side. It's the same bulb that DOES light when I step on the brake.
Any ideas where to go with that???

2006 or newer
For those with a warranty, the tail light is not considered an ordinary bulb and is covered by some warranties. I had to replace both tail lights on a 2006, which run about $400 each installed.
Bad news for everyone who did the 2006 tail light update because you will soon have to spend the same money over again or have someone come up with a way to open the cluster, replace the individual LEDs and glue it all back together.

Just an update for 2006 or newer. If any of the LEDs in the tail lights go out you have to replace the entire cluster.

Good afternoon everybody, my issue is the Driver Side , Led Light and Brake light, on my 2007 Lexus SC 430, I took off the whole assembly and it looks like the only Bulb I can replace is the Orange Signal light, they are a lot of screws which I do not want to take off, has anybody figured out who services these LED lights without Buying the Whole Assembly, the Whole Driver Side Assembly cost more than $200 at the Dealer and Ebay, thanks
