Is the Ignition Switch causing this issue?
Hi Everyone-
Here is the problem: I insert the key, turn it all the way to ignition, car starts, dash is lit up, everything seems to be working. Once I let the key snap back from IGN to anything else, the engine continues to run, but the car acts as if it is off (dash completely dead, wont come out of park).
If I remote start the vehicle using my luxlink (which ive had zero problems with since it's install about 4 years ago), car starts fine, dash lights up, everything is in working order. However, I have to put the key in to unlock the steering wheel, and once I depress the brake, again, car acts as though it's off (no dash/radio/nav, anything electrical, won't come out of park), but the engine continues to run.
Can anyone help? Has anyone had this issue, or one similar, and have they found it to be the ignition switch?
Thanks so much in advance.

Here's one vote that you have correctly identified the problem. The LuxLink provided really good clues. As you probably know, stepping on the brake disengages the LuxLink system.

Do you think it's the tumbler assembly itself (I've seen pics of the broken off tabs in the 01 lx470), or is there a history of the actual switch that the tumbler connects into going bad? Anything else you think it might be?

Also, johnnycake, I read your posts that you dealt with a while back with your car and the dealership/luxlink. When they found it was fried, do they have any idea why? Could the luxlink be causing an issue? Thanks again.

Well, problem solved.
13 hours pulling the car apart. Battery, alternator, relays, dash, ignition, ignition switch, key tumbler, the works. Still, nothing. Engine cranks and turns over, but no power to anything else.
Then the light bulb goes off over my head.
It's always the simplest answer.
Believe it or not, that 5A is actually blown. I had to put it under a microscope to find the pinhole in the filament.
ALWAYS TRIPLE CHECK YOUR FUSES!!!! This was the AM1 fuse located in the driver's kickpanel.
Hopefully this post helps someone else in the future.
