Looking at the picture that part appears to be the "shift position indicator"
I'm not sure of the year of liners car but for the 5 speed 2002-2005 here s the information on replacement part.
If car is newer et me know and I'll research part number.

My Bezel is painted metallic gray.
Liners' is silver, I thought all of them were the same, metallic gray.
In my TL, the shifter bezel was painted but underneath was chromed. We removed the paint and had bright chrome bezels! All we did was use a paint remover. I wonder if this is applicable here.
Guess not because the substrate is showing as black plastic.

Shift lever bezel removal
Referring to this thread and pictures does anyone have instructions on how to, remove the seat heater controls and the wood frame around the shift lever bezel? Thanks,

It really easy and takes only about 2 minutes. I would start by putting the car into neutral and engaging the parking break. Start by unscrewing the shifter ****. The top part will spin counterclockwise when you're looking down at it from above. Then open the center console so that the lower/deep portion is open. Then slowly and with increasing power try to "tilt" the heater unit forward toward the nose of the car. It should slowly give way and then just wiggle it from the sides to unseat it. There will be a power harness below it, so unclip that. Now you can easily pry the wood trim up using gradual force on both sides equally. Start at the end nearest the heater control and it will pop out once clip at a time. There will be another harness under the middle (near the cup holder portion) and a second harness near the cig lighter. Hope these directions make sense and help you with your project. Good luck.
