Speaker check
I read the procedure for removing the door panel to get at the speakers and it's fairly involved.
Is there any way to remove the panel that covers the 6" speaker instead of the entire door panel ? It looks like it should pop out but I pryed a little and it seems pretty tight and I don't want to ruin something. I only want to get at the speaker to put some gasket repair on it if I see a tear. The speaker has a terrible rattle.

I'm sure others will chime in, but no there is no way to just pop off the 6X9 cover and get to the speaker. You must remove the door panel.
Just to add another question to the mix. It seems that Lexus must have solved the 6X9 speaker problem at some point since I don't hear of newer SCs having this problem. Also, consumer Reports show a drop in audio related problems past 05. My 06 has never had a problem with the speakers. Just curious?
