How to sync iphone contacts to Nav
#2
You cant upload any contacts with the i phone at least the 3G, I had allready had my contacts loaded one at a time with my motorola razor. Once you get the contacts uploaded and there their. You can access them with the I phone, You just cant use the I phone to upload any. I keep my old motorola razor phone in glove box when i want to up load a new contact i add the new contact to the razor and then upload the contact from the razor to the lexus . Once I get it into the lexus the I phone can use it. I also get a loud static burst when you iniatate a call with the I phone . Its a loud static burst noise. APPLE AND LEXUS KNOW ABOUT IT BUT HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT

Buddy has a good tip. Find an old phone to use as a transfer device. Especially one which is out of date and maybe you can pickup on eBay for just a few bucks. You don't need cell service to upload contacts. And a phone which will upload your entire contact list with one button press is gonna save you lots of headaches from doing it one-by-one.
The 3G iPhone has the static burst, but I recall reading (no first hand experience) that there is no static burst with the 3GS.

Okay, someone figure this out....I took my SC to the Dealership to ask about the static burst. In the recieving area and outside the static burst occured. When I pulled into the service department ....no static burst. I did this 2 seperate times with the same results. It would not do it for the tech in the service department area. Stumper???

No, that is standard operating procedure. Most modern cars are able to detect when they are inside the service area and automatically correct whatever intermittent problem they are experiencing, only to revert upon leaving the dealership. This is especially true when the problem is under warranty.
