you wouldn't get a salvage title for that. probably a flat out lie. possibly one of many more problems with the car.

You could be right. I did a quick look at AutoCheck. I didn't pay to get the full report but AutoCheck says it has 15 records for the car while Carfax has only 13 records . You just gotta wonder what the missing two records are?!

I do not know. Carfax has never been accurate for me. Carfax spends its money on marketing and not on information. There is a video posted that justs kills Carfax on their accuracy and the guy just acts stupid! Here is the link!
