Road Noise
I replaced my run flats with conventional Yokohama tires as soon as I got the car last August and was wondering if any of you experience road noise as I do.
The Run Flats did have all sorts of noises and these Yokohamas are also very loud especially when the windows are up.
Thank you all for your responses to my postings lately.

Silence on the road
I got rid of my noisy run-flats 12,000 miles ago. My Michelin a/s Pilot Sports, I hate to tell you, are very quiet. Maybe the tread layout on your Yokos contribute to the noise....I don't know if your PSI might be a factor..........I keep mine at 35........Sorry you're having this problem....hope you get good feedback from our Forum

I've no experience with Yokohama, but my Michelin Pilot Sports A/S are v. quiet & a significant improvement over the run-flats.

Done with RFTs
After 20,000 miles with the OEM Bridgestone RFTs, I've finally put the Michelin PS2s on my SC430. Having done the research, I would have preferred the Goodyear Eagle F-1 GS-D3s which offer better ride comfort and slightly less road noise (and are not French) while sacrificing only a little in the way of handling. But that said, I am thrilled with the immediately noticable and significant improvement the PS2s offer over the RFTs in terms of performance, comfort, and noise level. For $1,000 I feel like I have a new car.
Given the many other problems I've had with this vehicle (including the still unresolved issues with rattles from the roof assembly that I am convinced are due to misaligned seals) Lexus can (in the words of THK) "shove it" as far as its spare kit is concerned....whether it's $300, $700 ,or more. For under $100 I've got an Airman portable rechargeable air pump and a StopnGo tire plug kit. These or my cell phone call to Lexus roadside assistance should be able to fix the uncommon but inevitable flat at least as well as if I had to throw a spare on the car.
