Default Cup Holder / Travel Mug

I recently purchased a 2002 sc430. One complaint I had was the lack of a cup holder that actually worked. After some searching, my wife found the Cantigo Travel Mug.

It holds 16ox of liquid safe and secure. Also, seems to stay in the cup holder!

Nice. I also hate the cup holder in this car. Nothing stays in place lol. I had to learn the hard way

So I know the cup holders in our cars catch a lot of flack but when I go through a drive through and get an included drink, servers have complimented numerous times on how "cool" it is when it just flips open like a transformer. I don't drink coffee and usually don't get really large sodas so I've never really had a problem with the cup holder, but I do agree in it's design flaw. Anyway, just a few of my thoughts.

My first post complained about the cup-holder. Would have been such an easy factory fix. Lexus engineers usually do much better!!!

I'm really only able to fit muffins, air fresheners and oversized cups into the cupholders. Cheers!

There was an old post that used velcro on the base ofmthe cup holder and bottom of the cup - reported it worked great ... I developed the habit of putting a finger on the cup edge on turns but someday I'll do the velcro trick.

Another thread concerning cup holder, and the infamous 2nd cup holder.

At 49:56 in the video in the second link, the second cup holder is identified as a, wait for it, cup holder

Love my "new" 2005 ES 330. Using large water bottles in the Lexus cup holders makes the transmission shift lever practically unusable. It works with drive through coffee though. More modern cars have door pockets sculpted for holding a common 16.9 fl oz water bottle in all four doors. I searched on Amazon and found rectangular 16 oz Nalgene water bottles to fit in the ES 330 door pockets.

I wish a manufacturer would make a size 12" H x (8, 10, 12)" W x 2" Thick. That would be near a custom fit.
I also use an older, square Nalgene 32 oz backpacker's bottle in the center console deep box (whatever you call it). Got to keep hydrated you know!

We got a pair of these at Academy, they are Magellan outdoors brand, yes they are a little small but they fit tight and have never had one tip yet! Of course red to go with the car!
