Default Is there removable side door protection?

I don't want to put a permanent rubber strip on the side of my car, but I would like to find something that I could temporarily put on and take off the side to prevent side dings if I absolutely have to park next to someone. Any ideas.

Thanks

Peter

Default Hmm

I remember there being magnetic rub strips that you could take on and off.. I'll go search for them..

Ok found it.. Magnetic Door Ding Protection

Magnetic ding guards, you can take them on and off. $39.95 just for a standard pair, regular shipping. I remember a lot of guys with S2000's got these.

Default o.k.

...except how do you prevent someone from stealing the temporary magnetic guards?

Default Well

are people really going to try to steal them?? I mean.. come on.. what kinds of neighborhoods are you parking in?!? just kidding. You could get them body color painted, that way it could look more like something permanent, and people wouldn't try. Even though, I personally don't see people trying to steal rub strips. And he was asking for something temporary. I don't think there's something that you could lock on and have be temporary. You have any other alternatives to suggest?

how about a re-enforced car cover and cable lock?

..althought that might be too much work just to park for an hour or so...

Yeah, that's a bit much. I am hoping that was a sarcastic response. i don't know of any car that I would do that to. That would attract even more attention, and perhaps even vandalism. I mean the SC is a very nice car and all, but really.. that much fuss?? If you're that worried about the car, why drive it around at all?? A car is just that, a car. I love my S2000, I'm careful where I park it. Usually park next to a median thing in the parking lot so that only one side has a possible car next to it. Never park next to other 2 door cars, they tend to have long doors that need to swing out wider. I never bothered to get the magnetic strips. Dings can come out.
