Default door edge guards

so ive already tried searching but i couldnt find anything relevant to what i was looking for...

i wanna get door edge guards, close as possible to the factory ones but really dont feel like paying 11 bucks for the shipping, so was wondering if anyone knew another place to look?

also two of my doors have small dings that turned copper colored if i bought them is it ok to just put the guards over them without painting it or what not?

any comments or suggestions would help

thanks guys!

there's a saying; do it once and do it right. When modding a car you gotta pay to play. besides it's better to have the real deal

Well the correct way to do it would be to paint it then apply the door guard. I'd stick to OEM door guards and absorb the shipping cost.

I'm assuming youre looking at Sewell. You can ask your local dealer to price match the part.

As for the paint, if it's small enough, go with the touch up paint and then door guard it. Bundle both to "save" on shipping.

IMHO factory is the way to go.

I looked on eBay and they were like 79 bucks!

Just get the 3m Clear bra... only costs 20 bucks for 4 strips.

It covers the edge of door from bottom to top and you can't tell it's there unless you walk up close to it.

The 3M works great- I did my doors plus the trunk edge, can hardly see it.

What vendor are you guys ordering your clear bra strips from? Do you have to measure & cut it yourself, or does it come pre-fit?

TIA!

The touch up paint is just a marker that paints the little imperfections in the paint. It is most commonly used for rock chips on the front bumper. So no sanding - no prior experience necessary.

Well no, you go to the parts department and say I can order these factory direct for $X (or $Y with shipping) and would like to know if you can match it. I would rather do business with you than order and wait. You can "up sell" it and say if they give you the price, you'll buy a paint pen.

And addressing what the others have said, 3M tape would look a hell of a lot better. IMO its hard to tell but it provides the protection you may need without distracting from the look of the vehicle.
