Price for an used SC430?
I've been looking around the market for a used SC430 (2002-2005).
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and taken into consideration.
My budget is about 10k. Which year and with how many miles should i be expecting to get with it?
How is the maintenance on it? Was your ownership trouble free?
Should i be expecting a lot of work on it, besides the routine oil & filter change?

With a price range of 10K USD, you should be able to find a branded-title SC430 on the retail (consumer) market. This would mean that the car would have likely been a flooded car, salvage car, or theft recovery, most likely with mileage well into the 100K mark.
On the other hand, if you have access to the wholesale market (such as dealer auctions), you should be able to pick up a fairly nice clean-title SC430 for around 10K plus the auction fees (this is the type of car that the dealers would put on their lot with the "$14,499" sign on it after picking up for 10K).
The good news is that the motors in these cars are as trouble-free as they come. I would carefully check all the electronics though, including the hard top mechanism.
Good luck!

Agree you need to put up a bit more than $10K to land a solid SC.

Thank you for the inputs! I'll ask the auction shops to help me keep an eye out for an SC430. A trouble free engine and hard top convertible is exactly what i'm looking for. So I should be prepare to pay 12k-15k for a solid and not a lemon

You remind me of myself like 2 years ago when I was looking to buy a sc model with the same budget you have.
I didn't make any further move because I felt I was getting an bit old model for 10g.
However, I still believe that SC430 is well built so good luck with your future purchase!

I was referencing the "Lemon" to the cars that were or may have been involved with the flooded/stolen/recovery or with a re-constructing title. Yes indeed some of the earlier models of the SC is 10+ years old but they still look good in my eyes though a timeless body

2005 SC430 has 140K miles - 2 accidents
Hey'all,
Please share your insights on the price. How much is a good/right price on a SC430 with 140K miles, 2 accidents ( rear bumper, door) all fixed, runs great, all maintenance on time, just the timing belt never been replaced. Your inputs will help me , Thank you

Pole Position
What year? That makes lot of different.

Just bought my 2002 SC430 that had one minor accident and fully repaired and functional for 11K. So that is actual market data. Year and mileage and appearance and drivability all make a difference.
