Time for New Tires
I have 60,000 miles on a set of Conti Extreme DWS. They will hit the wear bars soon. They are not run flats but don't ride as smooth as I would like. Any suggestions for a smooth riding tire with decent tread life?

Based on the mileage, 60k I'm assuming you have 18" wheels. Try the follow website. This should help you decide on the tire manufacture, rating, etc. I myself have a set of Hankook Ventus V12 performance tires. Select the tire for the road conditions and weather in your area. Best of luck.

Among all seasons, Mich Pilot Sport A/s3 are what I would look at next when it comes time to change.

I got about 45K on my Conti Extreme contact DWS and was satisfied. I could have pushed them more but once they get down below 4/32, I get a little nervous. I replaced them with the Conti Pure Contact DWS about 5K ago. These are a smoother ride and are quieter than the Extremes. They carry a 70K warranty and so far I am pleased with them. The Pure Contact is a new model in 2013.

I'm at about 45K miles on my DWS Conti's and the 'S' is still clearly visible (wear indicator)!!! Thrilled with them (except for the morning flat-spotting) and I'll be going with their upgraded tire noted in the previous post, unless I stumble on a screaming good deal for the Michelin's mentioned earlier.
