Default Transmission filter... to change or not.

Hi all. I was curious if anyone here has ever changed out their transmission filter before? I am getting ready to flush the entire system this weekend and was wondering if I should drop the pan and change the filter in there while I am at it? Searching the forums I found a lot on flushing but nothing on the filter change. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

I think the tranny filter is a metal screen so there is no need to change like paper/fiber oil filters.

nope, if there is gunk on the screen filter then just clean it with brake clean or something similar.
