Default Telescopic steering wheel squeals

Whenever the telescopic steering wheel on my 2003 SC430 adjusts its position, it emits a loud squeal. Anyone know if there's a fix?

Does it seem to vary with the temperature? Generally very hot temps can produce this.
On my GS which has the same column setup I had to remove the motor, clean it up, grease up the column and all was well to the day I sold her. The process can be involved though.

Yes, I know the fix! My 2004 did the same squeak when it adjusted itself back and forward as I turned the key on or off (it was not related to heat or cold as other person suggested). I brought it into the dealer for my service and told them the problem and they simply did some sort of lube to the steering wheel column and now it is perfect - no charge. Guess it is not that uncommon.

I thought mine was busted once turned out I just had it set on the furthest in position. So it never moved when I took the key in/out.

These operate on two separate motors, one for each axis. Lubing can either be easy if you are fortunate or difficult requiring removal of the motor assemblies depending in where the noise is coming from.
