Default XM Radio Question / Possibility

I am wondering if it is possible to use the Navigation Antenna in the front windshield as your antenna for satellite radio. I figure a satellite is a satellite??? Anyone tried marrying their satellite radio to the Nav antenna??? Or am I way out on left field on this one?

First, you have your facts wrong: The antenna in the windshield is the RADIO antenna. The Navigation antenna is somewhere under the dash.
As far as I know, the only reliable way to have reception for satellite radio is with an OUTSIDE antenna, and that's why you see all new cars equipped with Sat radio with those ugly 'shark fin' antennas on the roof or trunk. I bet cars equipped with both Sat and Nav probably have the Nav antenna in the same Sat housing for better reception.

I don't understand why Nav can get satellite signal under the dash, and Sat don't. Any ideas?
