Throttle body / Intake removal SC300 '97
Does any one have instructions for removing the throttle body and or intake manifold for a '97 SC300. I think my EGR intake ports are clogged and need to be cleaned out.
Thanks a ton.

Its pretty self explanatory-
1- pull off intake pipe
2-loosen tb bolts so it can move slightly
3-remove all the stuff keeping it from sliding off sensors/coolant lines/egr/cables
4-remove the intake

I have a P0401. Replaced EGR and hoses. When I pull a vacuum on the EGR, the engine does not stall. Per Scotty Kilmer, on the 4 cylinder honda / Acuras the EGR holes inside the intake manifold get clogged and block EGR vacuum. Living in CA, need to get the check engine light off.

I had the same code and it was fixed by replacing the egr vacuum modulator-
do a search on here or google and you'll find the way to test both system (egr valve and vacuum modulator)
if it does turn out to be the modulator, you can get a cheap one from autozone if you aask for the camry part instead of the lexus one

Yep. Already tested it. When you pull a vacuum on the EGR, it should make the engine stall. It does not, so I replaced the EGR. Still does not stall the engine. My best guess it that the ports are clogged, i.e. EGR opens, but the ports do not allow vacuum from intake to pull in EGR gases.
