Ultimate Final Drive and Transmission Gear Ratio Thread
I made an awesome excel spreadsheet that I want to share with my clublexus family. Basically I've got a table setup of factory gearbox and final drive ratios. You enter your tire size, your desired final drive and the RPM you're interested in. Then It will display in a large table the calculated speed for each gearbox (stock and desired final drive speed). I did multiple checks and am pretty sure this table is accurate.
Although if someone finds an error, let me know and I'll update it!
I made this table because I was thinking of putting in a 4.08 ratio final drive in my sc400. I still don't know if I should though. Can anyone share some input on that? I'd like a little more pep at lower speeds.
Speed calculated is actual speed, not speedometer speed. Bases this on your rpm and tire size. Remember to put the tire size for the DRIVING wheel.
Theoretical top speed is calculated based on final gear and redline limit. Does not take into consideration any speed limiter or air resistance.
