Ball joint boot

Ball joint boot
I know I'll probably get the old "you can't" from many, but I aquired a small tear in my ball joint boot while swapping bushings to prothane and I know I've read somewhere that someone used something to patch it up. If anyone has attempted to patch a torn grease boot on one and succeeded please let me know. I'm thinking window weld maybe.

I've torn/melted a few boots in the run of my car career. If any amount of grease escaped, it wouldn't be a bad idea to squeeze some fresh stuff back in there, clean the boot exterior with brake cleaner (wipe, don't spray the torn boot) and you can use RTV silicone (or similar silicone product) to patch it up. It won't be pretty, but it will get you out of a bind and will likely last a very long time....these boots don't see a lot of movement.
A lot of cars have replacement balljoint boots you can buy (Hondas for example)...anyone know if the SC is one of em?

You must buy the entire control arm at $300 to $400 each. How about this?

WOW, that is interesting. Anybody (Mr. 'doo ?!!) game for trying these out and reporting back?? It looks like he's been selling them since last December; maybe someone here has already bought them.
