I'd slap an LSx/T56 Tremec in my SC in a heartbeat.

Here is the thread mentioned earlier:

all this "stay ture to toyota" is so ghey.

mike peter's LSx S-13 coupe was INSANE! I did tandem with that car back in the day. SOOOOO much tire smoke.

I HATE domestics with a passion because I'm from Louisiana and that's all we really have here. just a bunch of mustangs and truck revving up at me everywhere i go.

But I'd take an LSx powered SC with a manual tranny ANY day.

If you are going to build something to drive, it would make sense to use the parts that perform best. I've yet to see a car that will run off just an emblem taped to the frame. If the LS1 outperforms the 1uzfe (and it does) and you can do it cheaper (and you can) then go ahead. The only thing loyalty to a badge gets you is an empty wallet and a car you'll only get a 10th of your money out of. Nobody buys specialty cars...... They build their own. So build it any way you damn well please, you'll never be able to sell it anyway.

Besides, both motors are weak beside the mercedes engines. I'd run a supercharged AMG engine and ECU mated to the AMG 6 speed and .......... SEE YA!

Agreed... EXCEPT for the Mercedes part You're talking about DEEEEEEEEEEEP pockets to get that thing into an SC and running faster than an LS1. You could blow the doors off a Benz for a heck of a lot less dough.

Unless you have an LS1 laying around, I'd look at an LQ4 6.0L. punch it out to 408 and make some REAL power. Cut out the spare tire well and you'd have plenty of room for a remote mount twin turbo setup. I know a guy with a TT 408 vette and it's stupid quick. That kind of grunt with the luxury of the lexus would be ideal.

DO IT!!!

Fat cars need big engines, I'd rather have an M5/6 over any AMG sedan. Show me an N/A Mercedes engine that makes 100hp+ per liter

After seeing a whole group of RX-7 "rotary club" with 95% of the cars with small block/LSX swaps i am officially sick of LS swaps into other cars. A bunch of hicks that drive them don't help the situation either.

Call me loyal, but i say nay to LS swap. The potential is there, but im just sick of them at this point. Keep them in your camaro/trans am or whatever you have them in.
