Default Parking lights not working?

checked bulbs and fuses, and wires and still cant find the answer. well read this hopefully its your fix.

I have posted on other threads saying I would find a solution when I had some time to fix the burnt diode problem. If you dont know which diode Im referring to dont worry I have pics (its located up and to the left of your kick panel fuses). for tools you'll need a screwdriver, a lighter, needle nose pliers, a small sharp knife, and wire crimps. for supplies you need 2 male end wire connectors for 18 gauge wire, a couple small pieces of shrink wrap for 18-14 gauge wire, and a diode that can handle your volts/amps and etc.

remove these trim pieces to facilitate the process..

disconnect battery, and remove relay to the left of diode (note its position for ease of installation later on) , cut as much excess burnt plastic of where the diode use to be with knife, the pliers can help pulling the plastic off as well, once you've exposed two pins pull off the little pieces of metal connector until just the pins are exposed.. I need a tutorial with CL..

next I used these rectifier diodes from radio shack, all you need is one, bend the ends down together about a cm apart, slide on some heat shrink leaving enough of the diode ends exposed to install and crimp the 2 male wire connectors, once installed bend the ends of the male connectors open enough to slide over the pins in your car, and place heat shrink over the male connectors to be flush with the ends so that they dont contact when installed..

install the diode on the pins with the line on the left side (note picture), then reinstall relay to the left of it ensuring it (diode) stays connected. at this point feel free to connect battery to check that it is in deed working. if it is not working check connections with caution if battery power is still on. look over steps check that nothing was missed. once complete install everything back to normal configuration. and good luck... Gabe.

I got my doide from my 97+ spare fusebox, worked fine .You should be able to get it at your local dealership for dirt cheap.

I honestly didn't even try to get it at the dealer after another member on CL said a dealership told him that its not even on there schematics, and what was left of it was melted to crap on my panel.

He originally posted this in 2008 so you may not get a quick reply...the package he posted says 276-1661 Radio Shack which is a 6 amp 50 volt rectifier diode sold at Radio Shack in 2014 for $2.99 package of 4. Before you ask... the next step you should do is go to the Radio Shack website to purchase these...
