Default Over Drive dash light flashes?

It only happens occasionally. The dash overdirve dash light just flashes randomly. The tranny shifts fine and stays in OD until the button is pressed. Any ideas?

short somewhere in the dash? loose connector on the shifter? just check all of the electrical connections.

The overdrive light flashes when the T. Convertor is slipping. Hopefully this is an easier fix for you than that.

I didn`t know that. But if the TC was slipping wouldn`t he notice some of the symptoms?

when it first starts to slip, the sensor re-acts. you might not notice it unless you "punch it" everywhere you go. even then, it may have just started and not be very noticeable.

like i said, there are a couple of things aside of this that will do it, but this is the built in safety sensor to keep you from burning everything up from the heat of slipping in the TC.
Hopefully it is something else. unless..... he has been waiting to go to a hi-output TC

It can be one of the shift solenoid goes bad too. Take it to shop and let them pull the code.

Just as long as the voices that tell you to do things aren't as loud.

I like pushing strange little buttons.....

Just kidding.

I'll get the code pulled. There are no noticeable symptoms though.

I think you need to put your car in time out. Sounds like it's been a bad girl.
