Default Weird Clock/cluster issue

Hey everyone,

My clock isn't changing hours or minutes. the colon( keeps flashing but the hour and minute stays the same.

When I try to change the hour or minute , my whole cluster starts flashing ( when I hold the button to change the time ) and when I let go it goes back to normal .

This problem started about 2 years ago but the clock would randomly start working again here and there . Lately it's been stuck.

What could it be? I can also record a video to show if need be. Thanks !

Did you get the issue solved? My clock recently (last week) started doing the same thing. It reads 1:47 all the time, although the colon is flashing. Pressing a button to change time makes the whole dash go dark for about half a second, then it lights back up, but the clock time won't change.

Tanin Auto might have a fix for this on SC's but I'm not sure.

Hello!

We have a lot of experience with these gauge clusters, and it sounds like the board may be bad but we'd love to take a look at it for you to determine the problem and see what it would take to fix it!
We would have you send it in under a diagnostic: https://www.taninautoelectronix.com/...gnosis-repair/
And once we determine the cost to repair it, we'll contact you and let you know. The diagnostic fee would go towards the repair price.
Feel free to give us a call or email me directly if you have any other questions!

Thanks, I'll probably take you up on that. I just put insurance back on the car for the summer, so it'll wait until October. I've been meaning to get the red needles redone anyway.

I’ve put up the diagrams for the clusters before. You’ll be able to find them searching my user id and diagrams. By doing so you can see the power source and ground lines. The dimmer circuit feeds this and you may have a bad dimmer unit which is not related to the cluster at all. See what you can come up with using the diagrams. We went over all this stuff over 16 years ago long before any sales and repair shops offered services so we could understand the systems and how they function so the info is there. If you can’t find a connection you may have to use a service, but it may still not be in the cluster. Mostly in the “ice blue thread “ and “diagrams” thread which can both be found with searching the SC forum and my ID. GOOD LUCK!

Nice thanks for letting me know. Actually, now that you say that about the dimmer, I did notice that the 99 I just bought has a brighter dash. Maybe there was something there... Anyways, I sold that SC. Hopefully it doesnt happen to the 99.
