Key stuck in ignition on acc & stuck in park
I have a 95 sc300 turned the car off and tried taking the key out but it's stuck in ignition on acc and won't let me take out of park the only way I was able to take key out was by disconnecting the battery
If anyone could help thanks in advance

My old GS300 did this once.
I freed my key by wiggling the steering wheel while jiggling the key until it finally released.
Took me about 5 minutes.
Never happened again

My 95' does this sometimes, I have to push the shifter (in park) forward and it'll make a distinct "click" sound and then the key comes right out. Not sure if it's with all SC's as my other one has the gated shifter.

All responses above are correct. There is a key lock solenoid in the ignition that keeps the key in the ignition unless the shifter lock ecu recognizes that the shifter is in Park. This prevents someone from potentially taking the key out of the ignition and locking the steering wheel while driving.
So, yes, either push the shifter as far forward as possible until the thumb button on the top pops up. That should activate the lever switch that is on the auto shifter mechanism which then tells the shift lock ECU that it is in park to that it can de-energize the solenoid. That is the reason why you were able to remove the key when you disconnected the battery...

Had the same thing happened to me several months ago.I remember having to always disconnect the battery all the time and having to stick a screw driver into the shift lock button to get it out of park.I no longer have the key being stuck in the ignition but still have a issue about taking it out of park.

If you are locked in Park, you need to check your Brake Light fuse!!! You can Muscle it out of there but why break real costly parts when you can replace a 10 cent fuse!!! I found it by mistake using the Google and who would think that a fuse for the Brake Lights would lock up the Tranny??? Sound funny right??? At the same time I had a buddy with a 300 ES and his Mirrors didn't work and neither did his cigarette lighter!!! WTF... They shared the same fuse!!! Please do not go chasing phantom problems when it may just come down to a fuse!!!

I believe it is fuse #10 under the dash.... But, if this fuse failed a whole bunch of other stuff stops working....
