Default P/N for Passenger Window Mechanism

'93 SC400
First - Great Forum !

Problems with passenger (RH) power window track mechanism.
Plastic pieces broken. Some nylon/delron pieces appear missing and the track is severely corroded. My motor runs fine, but I can't find a replacement track mechanism alone on line. Therefore,it looks like I need to replace the entire assembly (including the motor)

I've noticed two different P/N for this unit from internet searches.
Can anyone clarify which is correct?

69810-24040
85710-24030

Are either, or both of these numbers correct?
Is it possible that one is Lexus P/N and the other is Toyota?

If I find one at an internet recycling yard, or on ebay, I want to make sure I'm searching for the correct unit for my vehicle.

Thx

I do not know offhand if your Lexus P/N is correct but I can say that there won't be an equivalent Toyota part number. The doors and major door mechanisms for the SC300, SC400 and Soarer (apart from some clips and other small parts) are all unique and do not cross-reference to the MKIV Supra or another model.

The 69810-24040 comes up as "REGULATOR ASSEMBLY, FRONT DOOR WINDOW, RIGHT. REGULATOR ASSY, FR D"

The second one is either an incorrect part number (no idea if it's for an SC/Soarer) or else it's a JDM part number.

take note that those mechanisms can vary between model years ...like those of the +97 would be slightly different from the older ones. Though with some work (drilling holes for the install bolts) , you can get them to work .

Gerrb is right i recently had to replace mine and found they used different regulators for different years. i replaced my '96 regulator with one from a '95 amd its actually a little shorter. when the window is up, there's a slight gap. there's a thread on here by O.L.T. that addresses this issue using jb weld and aluminum foil. check it out.

The window height also changed, I believe somewhere in the '94-95 model years, along with the length of the regulator guide rail. My window doesn't quite go down all the way because I unknowingly replaced it with one of the newer, taller ones. I haven't tried swapping in a newer regulator yet because, well, it's a lot of work!

Actually, its pretty easy to replace. I'd say 30-40 minutes.i"m gonna switch back to the one i replaced. It isn't broken, but somehow, i bent the metal that rides the rail. I'm just gonna bend it back and use it.

Well sure, it's quick and easy if you bend stuff out of shape in the process. That guide rail / glass guide is a pretty delicate and intricate puzzle, and on some of the doors the actuator bolts are extremely difficult to line up and/or remove with/from the door's holes. I've done it on three SCs and there's a huge range in time involved.

^^ I agree with this after replacing two door lock actuator assemblies with the window regulator and glass in the door. Not a fast job in my experience and usually a bolt grabber-puller and replacement bolt or two should be on standby.

I was not aware that regulator assemblies changed a couple of times over the model cycles. I stand corrected. OP, best thing is to run the part number you gave me that I confirmed for you against your model year in a Lexus online EPC/Trademotion site (Carson Toyota, Lexus of Pembroke Pines, etc) and make sure it comes up for your specific model year. It is definitely correct for *some* SC model years but I do not know which ones offhand.

The change to the regulators is very lightly documented on here, but I think I might have been the first person to report the corresponding difference in window height. Since it had apparently never come up before, I was quite perplexed at first why the swapped window wouldn't go down all the way. I figured I must have done something wrong...

Bro, i didn't bend anything. I had to replace the original because the bracket was somehow bent when i lowered the window one day. I found it to be rather easy to replace.

Okay, you're off the hook for bending it, but the fact it was already bent probably helped a bunch in disassembly.

The part number 69810-24040 is discontinued. That part number is for the regulator and motor assembly. The only good part number that is still available for order is 69801-24033. 69801-24033 is the regulator assembly withOUT the motor.

The part number 85710-24030 did not come up in my system

Mine crapped out on me 6 months ago and I've still not fixed it... I wish I could get my hands on one of these for under $30 bucks!! But the junkyard always seem to have these missing... Ebay has them for like $80+ which is kinda steep. If only I could get my window out to use OLTs DIY fix, too bad the 14MM bolts holding the window are completely stripped... Ahhh well.

If it's any help, $80 on ebay is better than $295 from lexus. Are u sure ur screws r stripped? The bolt heads r so thin that it may be hard to grip at first. I actually drilled m I nes out and replaced it with the bolt from some spare glass I have.
