Default Rims/offsets

Hello everyone. I have a 1992 sc400 and I'm trying to get new rims. I have 235/45/17 tires that I want to keep. What offset on a staggered set up will allow me to get them close to the fenders but not rub? The car has a stock suspension. Thanks

If you're keeping the stock suspension and brake calipers you'll have plenty of room to play with but will also look super weird with staggered wheels and the same size tires. Are you keeping the same size tire on all 4 corners? IF SO, go with a square set of somewhere between 8.5-9.5" wide all around and anywhere between +25 to +35 offset. Keeping the same tires all around really makes a wonky staggered setup so I wouldn't do it.

It is a daunting task, but you should wade through the entire thread on wheel/tire fitment.....

A staggered setup implies different sized tires/wheels and running different size rim widths with the same size tires seems counter to the goal.

If you plan not to do anything with the suspension you might not get to the look you want... (which is why to go through the fitment thread to learn from others and determine your options...)

Pictures of the before and after will help others provide opinions and suggestions. Good luck on your quest.

Here's the wheel fitment thread

Honestly, you don't have to go thru the whole thing. Just go to the end and work your way back. You'll find something you like for sure

Thanks guys. I'm gonna keep the same size tires on all four corners due to the cost. They are all practically brand new I just don't like the chrome 5stars that it came with. I also wound like the rims to sit more flush and the offsets you provided will help me to find a good set. I'll check out the link. Thanks for the advice, Pete
